Adult Day Training Centre - Aberdare

Gill Frost, Director of the Day Training Centre in Aberdare asked CrackpotsCAO to design a permanent pottery facility for the use of the clients. Darren, like many people had never played with clay before and so everyone was amazed at his first ever pot "The Wolfman".

After only six, 1 day sessions, which were spread over a six weeks period, this gorgeous array of pottery, was for most of our pupils, their first attempt at clay. Where a persons mobility prevented work on all aspects of an individual piece, their enjoyment came by working with another person, to make a piece jointly, one forming the clay the other concentrating on the decoration. A pity about the photography. Certainly one of my most enjoyable and rewarding community arts projects.

Images in this gallery were taken during the project at the Adult Day Training Centre in Aberdare.
